When you look at the recent market, aside from the Global Recession which has affected the UK and US, you will see many changes in High Street Sales prices. Many of these changes have become a burden to the stores, some even closing because they have invested too much money in stock; PC World is a fine example of this style of “Bulk” buy for stocking up their storerooms, so that they can sell at “Level” prices and make a huge profit from the consumer.
With Storm Multi-Media Technologies UK, we believe that a product should be at a realistic price that allows the Consumer/Customer to walk away happy, knowing that they have not only bought a “Bargain” but also bought quality products that are the very same as the products sold for more at places like PC World.
We live for bargains. Each person who passes through a store door will look at the prices first, then the product to compare with other stores and shops that they were once used to going into. As they see prices labelled lower, their satisfaction then needs to be finalized by knowing that there is no difference between the products that they are seeing to the product they have seen elsewhere.
A perfect example would be an LG DVD+/-RW (Burner) which retails at £44.99 at PC World. As I have had the opportunity to shop around, to my surprise, I found the exact same make and model inside the Leeds Market priced at just £24.99 including VAT. With the difference being £20.00, it would be in the best interest of the consumer to buy the product at the latter shop. Even for that shop owner to buy at Trade Price, we would be talking around £12 to £15.00 per single unit.
The ability to buy products and merchandise by means of trade has been allowed for years, if not the last couple of centuries. Now, in today’s world of High Powered this and High Powered that, we are subjected to an overwhelming amount of pressure procured by the Governments of the world, and in their struggle to gain confidence from their populous, it is the small businesses that suffer the brunt of the burden by paying more in taxes and costs.
History has told us, proved to us and shown us, that more small businesses were made bankrupt through the Thatcherite Years, than any other decade or century of politics. Even now, where there is a chance for small businesses to fill the gaps that larger companies leave, the small business is taken over by Hostile means by the big Corporations as a means of keeping themselves safe from having to shed jobs, lower their expenditure and even, to keep the top ranking management in jobs that they helped build. Policies, strategies and defences against such companies as a small fruit and veg business are taken to the extreme by such top names as Tesco, Cost-Co (ASDA) and Sainsbury’s.
As a small company owner, my fears are that these large companies that dominate the High Street, have only their Empires interests at heart, not the well-being of their staff members and certainly not the consumer. One word sums up our world (in my own expressive opinion) and that is “Greed”. Greed is a six horned beast that splits itself into two and becomes the power of twelve – twelve in a Board Committee, Twelve in a Jury, Twelve in the making of a dozen and so on and so forth. Two or three is a lower number than twelve, so the lower number is crushed, pushed aside or just shunned in such a way that the future becomes overcast, unsure and bleak.
The difference with Storm Multi-Media Technologies UK Ltd, is that we are not alone, we are not of a low number, and certainly not afraid of Corporates and their methods. A New Dawn in Multi-Media & Technology has begun and in the line for reaping the benefits from our launch is the Customer. Welcome to our Blog.
